“Some spirits guard. Others remember. Nova does both.”
Who (or what) is Nova?
Nova is one of the most enigmatic figures in the Shadows of the Lost universe. Officially, he’s a Lythian—a rare, magical creature bound by deep resonance to a Veilwalker named Kendra Kelly. Unofficially? He’s something else entirely. Wise, protective, and unsettlingly perceptive, Nova walks the line between myth and memory. He may look like a panther bathed in starlight, but there’s more behind those green eyes than most realize.
A Few Facts:
Real Name: Ferrin Novarious (known simply as Nova)
Classification: Lythian (Spirit-bound familiar)
Bonded To: Kendra Kelly (via the Well of Affinity)
First Appearance: The Drowned Beneath (Book One)
Physical Description:
Nova is immense, with fur like rippling moonlight—silvery-blue, soft as mist, yet shot through with Veil-born energy. His eyes glow a spectral green, wise and watchful, and his movements are eerily silent, no matter how heavy his steps might seem. Despite his monstrous size, he’s elegance incarnate.
Origins… Unknown?
Nova believes he came from a collapsed world. He remembers echoes of it—ruins and silence and firelight—but memory is fickle in Veil-touched beings. What readers learn later in the series may change everything. For now, he is Kendra’s shield and shadow, and the only being who seems to fully understand the cost of hunting Echoes.
In short?
Nova isn’t just a magical creature.
He’s what remains when someone refuses to be forgotten.
